Happy Birthday Jesus!

So the wrapping, the baking, and working is all done. We spent the evening with my grandmother and had a wonderful gathering. I think I just heard the reindeer leave the top of the roof. Man the rose such a clatter.
looks like ashton must have been a good girl this year to receive so many toys.

I cannot wait to see the look on her face in the morning when she sees it.

I hope everyone has a safe and merry christmas!

Christmas time is here.

As we draw closer to Christmas Day, the panic sets in as to what all is left to do in preparation for the joyous holiday season. Monday we had Ashton's christmas pictures made in which she did wonderful up until it got close to nap time then we got cranky but we got through it and got some beautiful pictures from it.

She opened gifts with her Mommy Julia and Bubba on thursday with a help from Topher on assembling the toys. She was surprised and unable to understand why there were so many presents just for her and none for anyone else.

Ashton always keeps me on my toes with the funny comments she makes throughout the day. For example, I think that I have made my child a little concieted and full of herself because I make a point to try to tell her she is beautiful everyday. Well on thursday morning we are getting dressed for christmas party at MDO and she has just had a fresh diaper put on and is waiting on me to put on clothes. As I start to put on her shirt, she says "wait mommy". I looked at her puzzled and asked "Why?" She looks up at me very serious look on her face and says " Mommy can i just go naked today I look pretty that way?" It took everything in my power not to giggle at her as i proceeded to explain that even if she is cute naked she shouldn't go out in public without clothes plus it was really cold out and clothes keep her warm. She did eventually buy my story to put on clothes but not without a few giggles.

One month.

It has been exactly a month since Ashton & I were in our wreck. Today we travel back to Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital to have a follow up CT scan on Ashton's skull to make sure the fracture is healing. I pray that all goes well. I can't believe it's been a month already. Time flies by so fast...

In just over a month from now my sweet baby girl will be two...I still can remember her tiny self at 8lbs 2oz...now she is about 28lbs and talking up a storm. Oh how quiet days are a thing of the past.

the stockings were hung by the chimney with care

I am having such a hard time finding gifts for Ashton this christmas. I am finding that the "smart" toys she isn't big enough for yet and the toys that are for her age she is too smart for. Such a predicament.
She is getting so excited by all the christmas lights out in the yards of our neighbors. She says "they so pretty mommy." And she loves helping put the ornaments on the tree. She was helping her nanny and she kept saying "don't worry nanny i be REAL careful" as she made her crazy eyes. lol

Christmas

Ashton asked me why we get presents for christmas and I was explaining to her that we exchange presents to celebrate Jesus' birthday. She exclaimed BABY JESUUUUSSS! like the one from church...I said yes ma'am just like the one we talk about at church. she is so funny.

oh kids say the craziest things

Yesterday Ashton was spending time with her Aunt Julia (a.k.a. Mommy Juya) and they were on a shopping adventure with Julia's friend Brittany. Well Brittany wanted to go into Victoria's Secret which with any other toddler they probably could have gotten through no problem...however Ashton is a different story. As they entered the store Ashton starts yelling boobies look at all the boobies. Now I'm not even really sure where she learned the word because I know I didn't teach it to her. But I can only imagine Julia's embarrassment as she is watching her squeal this through the store.

Truly thankful

As I come up on the two week mark since our accident I realize how truly fortunate and blessed Ashton & I are to have walked away from it the way we did. I am so grateful to the emergency medical staff who were at the scene and later at the e.r. And truly grateful for the people God put there to take care of us. It's truly a wake up call to show how quickly life can change.

Wednesday evening I was picking Ashton up from her daddy's house and she & her daddy were sitting in the kitchen eating a cupcake. Well I walk in the room and Ashton tells me "Sit down mommy, I share cupcake." I really wasnt in the mood for a cupcake (shockingly) and I just simply said "No thank you, you can have it." To which she says "Okay mommy your loss." It took everything in my power not to bust out into laughter because truly only my child at almost two would say its your loss.

first post

So I have decided to start a blog that will share my daughter's oh so funny moments throughout the day. I hope it serves as a way to keep others entertained as she does me on a daily bases.
